CANADIAN ROCKIES Jasper, a small, quaint Canadian village, is the starting point for a 230 - kilometre journey on the 'Dream Road Of The Rockies.' The Rockies are the eastern range of the North American Cordilleras and extend through Canada for 1,200 kilometres. The Jasper Tramway is Canada's longest and highest cable car and travels up Whistler's Mountain into a world of stunning mountain scenery, not to mention the Jasper National Park which is the largest and most northerly mountain park in Canada. The Columbia Icefield contains around thirty glaciers and is the largest ice mass in the Rockies. Travelling by snow coach, the stunning scenic splendour of the glaciers and the shining sky are in wonderful contrast to the icy light blue depths of the abyss. After raging waterfalls and frozen ice fields the journey moves on to tranquil lakes, a vast area where Man is only a visitor and Nature belongs to the deer, grizzly bears, elk and birds of prey of this region. From the top of Mount Whitehorn there are magnificent views across the white peaks of Bow Range and down into the deep valley that contains Moraine Lake The Canadian Rockies are a natural world that stretches across high mountains, captivating valleys and huge national parks.
